No Rest for the Weary Photog

Off to Meridian to shoot the Blue Angels show. Airshows are among the coolest things ever.
They even had a Raptor demo!!
Check out the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds websites for dates coming up. If they are near you, don't miss them.

Jet-lagged... and home

Back from Moab and frazzled. All those flight cancellations meant Atlanta lay-over hell. But opportunity knocked and I got some pretty cool airport shots. Good stuff is all around. You just have to look.
Today's post is dedicated to Allan and Judy Walls. I love you both. And I pray for you everyday.

DLWS Day 2

The weather remains glorious and the scenery is magnificent. The teachers here- Moose Peterson, Laurie Excell, Joe McNally, Sharon Peterson, and their whole are just great people. They love photography and are passionate about teaching it. Moab, UT, should be on everyone's must-visit vacation list.

Hello from Moab, UT

This place is glorious! The mountains and desert along the Colorado are stunning. Can't wait to get out and start shooting. Pretty beat from flying all day but better pictures will appear tomorrow.

Happy Springtime Everyone

Goodbye Winter!!
I hope the cold and gloom are finally gone for good. It's time for good old Southern weather to rise again. Sunny days, warm nights, tanned bodies-it has taken too long to get here but welcome Springtime...

St. Paddy's Day Parade

The St. Paddy's Day Parade in Jackson, MS, Saturday was fabulous. The atmosphere was Mardi Gras but not out of hand. Lots of great food and drink, gorgeous people, and great spring weather. The event raised lots of money for many good causes. I met people from New York, California, and even Germany who came just for this. Look forward to next year for sure!

Picture Posting

Hi friends,
I am testing my picture-posting abilities today. I chose this one to go first in honor of the Pregnant Princess' alma mater and my friend John F's adopted home; they both have made so much possible for me in the last year. Thank you both.

Moab on the Horizon

Hi friends (esp. Flickr buds, John, and the pregnant Princess),
I set up this blog to document my photo "safari" to Moab, UT for the DLWS course there. This is my first trip to a photography seminar. The DLWS(Digital Landscape Workshop Series) group has big-time folks like Moose Peterson, Joe McNally, and Laurie Excell teaching us mere mortals how to take a picture. The feedback on their website is great (as you would expect, who posts gripes?). I am looking forward to the scenery and hope to post some good pictures.
Lift off from Jackson is Saturday a.m. with seminars Sunday and official shooting to start Monday.
Since I am new to blogging, I will post some test shots later on and see how it works.
Hope everyone has a great day.
